The origin of the story or in our words, the adventure IRISgo ®, goes back to a very unpleasant event. A friend of the two founders, Fabian and Manuel, had knockout drops put in her drink. After this incident, the two friends asked themselves how a drink could be completely closed without having to make any sacrifices in terms of the drinking experience.
The idea came during an evening walk. "Do you remember the intro to the legendary James Bond films? We need a closure like that." Full of enthusiasm, Fabian and Manuel began researching and came to the conclusion that a closure that could open a large diameter would be ideal for enjoying and transporting hot drinks. In addition, there was no product on the market that could solve this problem satisfactorily.
What are the advantages of such a locking system?
All reusable cups have mini drinking openings that negatively affect the drinking experience. On the one hand, the distinctive coffee aroma cannot be taken in through the nose before enjoying a sip of the delicious hot drink. In addition, it is easy to burn your tongue, the tip of your nose gets in the way when drinking and cleaning is often time-consuming, which means that the cups cannot be cleaned hygienically.
The idea was born and prototyping began immediately.
We would like to give you an insight into our first IRISgo® Office. A small, damp basement compartment in the Zelgwasser district in Gelterkinden, a village in Baselland. To get a working internet connection, we had to put our smartphones in the light shaft and hope that it didn't start to rain. By the way. The small light shaft was also our only source of daylight. So the light shaft was the second most important element in the office. The only thing more important was our 3D printer, with which we printed our first IRISgo ® prototypes have been created.
